What is a to-do list?

A to-do list is the simplest productivity tool there is — a place to capture every task you'd otherwise forget, ranked by what matters today. The Utilix to-do tool keeps that simplicity intact: open the page, type a task, hit Enter, move on.

Benefits of using a to-do tool

  • Free up working memory. Once a task is on the list, your brain stops looping on it.
  • See progress at a glance. The summary card shows total, open and completed counts in real time.
  • Stay focused on one thing. The Active Task feature pins a single item to a sticky bar visible everywhere on Utilix.
  • Local-first, private. Tasks live in your browser's storage — nothing leaves your device.

How to stay productive

  1. 1
Type a task and hit Enter
The input is auto-focused. Press Enter to add — no save button, no reload.
  2. 2
    Tick, edit or delete
Use the checkbox to complete, double-tap (or the pencil) to edit inline, and the trash icon to remove.
  3. 3
Promote one as your Active Task
Tap the star on any task. A small sticky bar will keep it visible on every Utilix page until you tick it off.
  4. 4
    Filter when the list grows
Switch between All, Active and Completed to keep the view focused. Everything is saved instantly to your browser.

Frequently asked questions

  • Everything lives in your browser's localStorage. Nothing is sent to a server, no account is needed, and the list is private to this device and browser profile.

  • Marking a task as Active pins it to a small bar that follows you across every page on Utilix. It's perfect for the one thing you actually want to finish today — open a calculator, run a converter, the bar stays put until you complete the task.

  • No. To stay fast, free and private the to-do list is local-only. Use the same browser profile to keep your tasks; clearing site data will remove them.

  • There's no hard cap — but the tool is designed for short, daily lists rather than long backlogs. Use a project tracker if you need hundreds of items.
